The rainbow after the rain...

Last week was all about overcoming obstacles and finding fun and beauty despite what mother nature was throwing at us. After all of that rain, it was only appropriate to have my Friday wedding be all about the rainbow!

Linsey and Missy contacted me last September and told me about their plans for a stylish and intimate ceremony in Haymarket, VA. When I arrived, I met Linsey first, hanging out with her family and friends in her bridal suite, and then I got to meet Missy, hanging with her family and friends in her respective bridal suite. They decided to do a "first touch"- we posed them on either side of a column right by their ceremony site. What struck me was how quiet and nervous they both were until this moment. When they were finally able to hold hands, you could just feel the weight lifted off and how magic their connection was. After a quick shot out of their rainbow flasks for good luck, it was ceremony time.

Missy walked down the aisle first with her adoring dad, and Linsey walked down next with her loving mom. They both teared up as they saw each other and proceeded to give the most heart felt, moving vows straight from their hearts.

After the ceremony, they celebrated in the coolest way possible. They each, along with their bridesmaids, held a smoke bomb and created the colors of the rainbow! I was so excited to capture this as it's such a celebration of love, equality and diversity, and looks amazing on camera!

The rest of the evening was filled with love, dancing, heartfelt speeches, and the coolest rainbow cake you've ever seen.
